Unforgettable Idul Fitri Gift

What to bring your relatives in Papua for Idul Fitri to celebrate the end of the fasting month of Ramadan? What about a freshly baked pizza from Pizza Hut brought all the way from Jakarta?

Will his relatives ever come for a return visit?

What to eat on Easter Sunday?

If you are tired of dyed eggs for Easter Sunday you might want to try a dish from the animal where the eggs come from. Why not to try a chicken feet recipe?

Birthday Tuna

Want to buy a tuna while cruising the seas? Go to Ticao island in the Philippines and you might find this fisherman. I bought that tuna and Q got lots of sashimi (literally 'pierced body' or 刺身) for her birthday.

Sweet Philippines

After having had Coca Cola Lights from Germany and France very recently I am not quite sure if the Coca Cola light formula is always the same. To me the Coca Cola Light in the Philippines seems to be sweeter than the ones from Europe. Am I right?

No Cents in Afghanistan

Besides the fact that Afghanistan has its own currency, the afghani, you will find a number of restaurants accepting US Dollars only.

Interestingly, cents were never introduced in the country. Every item which usually costs $2.10 will be automatically $3. Quite a substantial tip even for Americans.
