Kenya in the Philippines

The savannah of Africa? No, this is Calauit Island in February 2007, just off Busuanga in Northern Palawan, Philippines.

On the island you will find zebras, giraffes, deer, antilopes, and even pythons. You might want to call it incest island due to the low numbers of imported animals from Africa. Needless to say, quite a dictator's dream.

So why doesn't the Department of Tourism develop it? It could draw Asian tourists.

misanthrope: Pls ask Gloria. Seems she is running out of ideas.

Actually, you might also want to ask another question to her: 'Why are many for the most beautiful islands in the Philippines in private hands?' Lot's of missed opportunities or is it natural resources conservation?

Ay, naku, YOU ask her. We're not close. And I don't like her.

Misanthrope: never met her either. The closest I got to her was at EDSA when her security cars pushed me into the jeepney lane.
