Affluent citizens, many of Chinese origin, set up their mansions in the very north of Pluit, a subdistrict of Jakarta. Villas with yachts can be spotted from Jakarta’s fish market and the neighboring slum offering a peep into another world. Within the gated community giant mansions had been built next to each other, each plot is divided my huge walls allowing each resident to design a dream house in whatever style and taste.
Skyscaper and greek column house divided by wall to a tuscany-style house.
Jakarta, March 2009.
