How to ruin an architectural masterpiece
The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) could have been the masterwork of Filipino architect Leandro V. Locsin. Built out of concrete and covered with coral reminding of its location on land gained from the sea, giving the impression to arise from the water, perfectly symetrical and well-balanced, but fitted on the front side with a little detail ruining its entire character: a driveway. Out of convenience, for the chauffeured users. Is there really no better way to bring people closer to the arts?

I like how in Singapore here the structure of the driveway for cars are underneath the expanse of the Esplanade. Meanwhile, the area surrounding it is paved with concrete walkways for people and art goers to let them go around and discover things in their leisure (ala walk in a park).
Well, as for the CCP design, it's there already (that driveway). Hopefully the organizers can do something to add some color touch to a (somewhat) bleak atmosphere of CCP (especially during night time when there is no concert or event inside).
