Bring us back the billboards

Can't agree more with TAFIM that we do need the billboards back. Driving is still entertaining in Manila due to one of the most absurd driving styles I'd ever observed in my life. If I can not watch nor read the monster ads I might even start to realize in what bad shape the roads are. EDSA used to be so uniquely dressed, now it fells like driving through a dinosaur skeleton.

Picture from this morning, same place as the
picture I took in July 2006.

Oh, I thought I could close my series about those billboards. Your picture shows that the story is not yet finished! Thanks for pointing this out to us. I am quite busy for the moment and I had no time yet to wander in MM.

Let's make a bet. It will be just a matter of time before those billboard adds will come back.

Yes, I agree with Torn and Brommel, I want the billboards back, too. Our older lady needs makeup, let's go for beautification again!!
Besides of being bright, witty, sometimes tasteless, the are also extremely practical, for two reasons. If you are not a prototype of the male species used to hunt far from home and to find the way back to your cave in the dark, you definitely need them for orientation when driving in Manila! Take EDSA northbound at night and you know you have crossed the Pasig once Jesus Always Saves greets you above the bowl of Lucky Me noodles. Wanna get onto EDSA coming from the south? Take right at the Bridgestone tyre (gone...)!
They are good for political education, too. You don't know Marcos scion Borgy M., maybe next mayor of Manila? Sure you do. The guy with the very, very low jeans on the big billboard on Quirino Avenue (gone for some time...). Actually, he shared the billboard with potential new senator Kris A., herself pushing underwear.
But Brommel is right about one thing, too. The Rio-like Jesus in Guadalupe was invisible before. Want to know where it is? EDSA bay-bound, with Jesus Always Saves and Lucky Me noodles in your back...
